Michael Merck (b. 1974, Cedar Rapids, Iowa) My work is narrative-driven and rendered in readily accessible western symbolic terms – often times figurative – that welcome poetic reasoning, prolonged engagement, and multiple readings. I have a particular interest in material and its ability to transcend meaning as well as an affinity for language and its capacity to simultaneously convey concrete, aural, and visual information.
